Visual Inspection of Plasma	

A simple test that can be used to diagnose marked hypertriglyceridaemia is inspection of the plasma. A milky or creamy appearance is indicative of extreme elevations of triglyceride levels (Fig. 6.32). At present, assessment of the size of the LDL particle using gradient gel electrophoresis remains a research tool.
